Paper 2
Revise: Roman History and Epic PoetryIn Rome, Brutus uses his office as Tribune of Celeres to address the people. He connects Sextus’ violence with the king’s arrogance, the people’s degrading labour, and the murder of Servius Tullius, whose daughter Tullia drove over his body. The people reject royal rule and exile Tarquinius and his family; Brutus then goes to the camp at Ardea to rally support against the king.
