Revise: Ovid’s Metamorphoses: Heroes and TransformationThe naiads fill the broken horn with fruit and scented flowers and make it sacred to the Goddess of Abundance. It becomes the cornucopia, or horn of plenty. The story thus explains both Achelous’s damaged forehead and the origin of a sacred symbol.
