A Roman performance form that could combine speech, movement and comic sketches, usually without masks and with both male and female performers.

Revise: The theatreRoman mime was not necessarily silent. It could use speech alongside movement and physical comedy, often in short sketches about everyday situations. Performers usually appeared without masks, and women could perform alongside men.
Distinguish mime from pantomime. Roman mime could include speech and actresses; pantomime used a masked dancer with musical and vocal accompaniment.
