Paper 4
Revise: Roman Fiction: Petronius’ Satyricon and Narrative TechniquesPetronius’ Satyricon is a work of fiction, often described as a comic novel. It survives only in fragments, so its surviving episodes cannot reveal the complete original plot or ending. Petronius is traditionally associated with the court of the emperor Nero in the first century AD: the world of Imperial Rome provides the setting for his exploration of wealth, status and taste.
