Revise: The dating of the Mycenaean ageDendrochronology compares patterns of annual tree rings. Overlapping patterns can show that different timbers grew at the same time; matching them to a securely dated reference sequence can provide calendar dates. Radiocarbon measurements from rings separated by known numbers of years can also be combined to narrow the possible date range.
