Voter engagement

Voter engagement concerns people’s interest and involvement in elections, from learning about candidates to actually voting. Political participation is broader: a person can contribute to a policy consultation or raise an issue with a politician even when no election is taking place. An effective measure might therefore improve participation without immediately increasing election turnout.
