Paper 1
Revise: Standing for ElectionFor community council elections in Wales, a candidate must be a British citizen, an eligible Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of any EU country (including the Republic of Ireland), or a qualifying foreign citizen. A qualifying foreign citizen is someone outside the Commonwealth, Irish and EU citizenship categories who either does not need permission to enter or remain in the UK, or has indefinite leave to remain. This uses the same immigration-permission test as the Commonwealth qualification; temporary permission alone is not enough.
