Great Britain

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland comprises England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. These are four parts of one state, rather than four separate independent states. Great Britain means England, Scotland and Wales collectively; the United Kingdom also includes Northern Ireland.
