Revise: Relative Atomic MassRelative atomic mass is the weighted mean mass of the atoms of an element compared with one-twelfth of the mass of a carbon-12 atom. It has no unit because it is a comparison of masses.

Revise: Relative Atomic MassesThe weighted mean lies between the smallest and largest isotope masses. For a mixture containing exactly two isotopes, it lies closer to the mass of the more abundant isotope; this is not a reliable general rule when three or more isotopes are present.

When explaining a non-whole , link all three ideas: isotopes have different masses, occur in different abundances, and therefore produce a weighted mean.
