Separating a solvent from a solution by boiling it and then cooling its vapour to collect the liquid.
Revise: Mixtures and Separation TechniquesIn simple distillation, heat the solution in a flask. Water boils and its vapour travels into a water-cooled condenser. There it cools, becomes liquid again and is collected in another flask, while the salt remains in the original flask.
