A fuel cell in which hydrogen reacts with oxygen, transferring chemical energy mainly as electrical energy and producing water.

Revise: Fuel cellsA hydrogen–oxygen fuel cell is constructed so that the reaction transfers much of its energy electrically instead. The electricity can drive an electric motor or another device.
Distinguish emissions where the fuel cell is used from impacts across the whole fuel cycle. Water may be the only chemical product in a hydrogen–oxygen fuel cell, but making and transporting the hydrogen can still cause pollution.
