Revise: Early Atmosphere FormationThe Earth has not always had exactly the same atmosphere as it has today, so scientists refer to the atmosphere present near the beginning of the Earth’s history as the early atmosphere.
The mixture of gases surrounding the Earth during the earliest part of its history.
Use the complete causal sequence: volcanic activity released gases, and these gases formed the Earth’s early atmosphere.
Do not say that volcanoes formed the Earth itself; their role here was to release the gases that formed the early atmosphere.
Keep this point separate from questions about what gases the early atmosphere contained.
