Revise: Empirical Formula ExperimentRepeat until two consecutive masses agree: this is heating to constant mass and provides evidence that the reaction is complete. A white product is expected; grey material can indicate that some magnesium remains unreacted.
When describing heating to constant mass, include the full cycle: heat, allow to cool, weigh, then repeat until consecutive masses agree.
