Carbon capture

Carbon capture provides another route. Carbon dioxide can be captured from a major source such as a power station before it enters the atmosphere and stored for the long term. It can reduce emissions from a site where fossil fuels are still used, but capture and storage require equipment, energy and suitable storage; the storage must remain secure.
