Revise: Atom EconomyAtom economy, also called atom utilisation, measures the proportion of the starting materials that ends up in the desired useful product. A high atom economy means that relatively little of the reactant mass becomes unwanted products. This can reduce the consumption of raw materials, the amount of waste requiring treatment or disposal, and the cost and environmental impact of a process.
