Revise: Nomenclature of CompoundsTwo important endings are -ide and -ate.
Do not decide from the presence of oxygen alone: oxide and hydroxide end in -ide, whereas nitrate, carbonate and sulfate end in -ate.
Write suffixes accurately: -ide and -ate are not interchangeable.
