Revise: Apparatus and techniquesA volumetric pipette with a pipette filler transfers a fixed aliquot of the solution being analysed into a conical flask. A burette, held vertically in a clamp, delivers a precisely measured but variable volume of the other solution. A few drops of a suitable indicator are placed in the flask, which stands on a white tile so that the end-point colour change is easier to see.
