Recycling

Recycling involves processing waste materials so they can become new products. Paper, glass and metals can be collected for recycling rather than simply discarded. A business can provide recycling bins and arrange collection, or recycle suitable materials left over from production.

Reusing an item keeps it in use; recycling processes its materials into something new. Both can reduce demand for new raw materials, but reducing waste prevents the problem in the first place.
