Revise: Mechanisms of ThermoregulationShivering therefore adds heat to the body.
Do not say vasoconstriction produces heat: it reduces heat loss. Shivering increases heat production.
Shivering warms the body because repeated muscle contractions increase respiration and energy transfer, not because the movement simply rubs the body warm.

Specification B3.3b · Paper 1 (Foundation), Paper 3 (Higher)
Rapid, involuntary contractions of skeletal muscles that increase energy transfer from respiration.
Revise: Control of body temperatureSkeletal muscles act as effectors during shivering. Together, these structures adjust energy transfer to help return body temperature towards its usual range.
