Revise: Uses of plant hormonesSome selective herbicides contain synthetic auxins: chemicals that act like the plant hormone auxin. At the concentration used, they disrupt growth in susceptible broad-leaved weeds and kill them. Many grass crops, such as cereals, are much less affected, so a grower can treat a crop without killing it along with the weeds.
