Revise: Genetic Engineering ProcessA restriction endonuclease can do this. This enzyme recognises a particular DNA base sequence and cuts the DNA at that sequence. Cutting on each side of the required gene isolates the chosen DNA fragment.
State the enzymes' different roles precisely: a restriction endonuclease cuts DNA at recognised sequences; DNA ligase joins the DNA backbones.
