Revise: Role of sugarsLarge carbohydrate polymers are called polysaccharides. Starch, glycogen and cellulose are examples made from many glucose units. This does not mean that every carbohydrate is a polymer: a single glucose molecule is one monomer, and two joined sugar units form a disaccharide rather than a long polymer.
