Mathematical model

A mathematical model uses numerical relationships or patterns in data to predict behaviour. When many calculations need to be carried out, a computational model can apply the model’s rules repeatedly to explore possible outcomes. These forms can overlap: a computer may run the calculations of a mathematical model, while a diagram helps people see what its results mean.
