Revise: AntibioticsThe infected person is the host organism. Antibiotics work because bacterial cells differ from the host’s cells. Human cells do not have bacterial cell walls, for example, so an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis does not inhibit the same process in human cells.
