A directional growth response to gravity; also called geotropism.
Revise: Plant Control and CoordinationLight produces phototropism, while gravity produces gravitropism (also called geotropism). Shoots commonly grow towards light, where their leaves can receive light for photosynthesis. Roots commonly grow downwards, helping them reach water and minerals and anchor the plant.
