Revise: Sustainable FisheriesA fish stock is a population of fish available to be caught in a particular area. Fish can reproduce, so they are potentially a renewable food resource. However, renewal takes time: young fish must survive, grow to reproductive age and produce offspring.
When asked how net control conserves fish stocks, link the steps: larger mesh gaps allow juvenile fish to escape, more survive to breeding age, and they reproduce before being caught.
