Revise: DeforestationDeforestation is the large-scale clearing of trees. This lesson focuses on deforestation in tropical areas, where forests contain many different habitats and often support very high biodiversity. Clearing trees changes an entire ecosystem: it removes living organisms, alters the soil and water movement, and affects the carbon cycle.
