A method of determining an energy transfer by measuring a temperature change in a known mass of a substance such as water.

Revise: CalorimetryThis method is calorimetry. A simple school calorimeter may be a boiling tube or a metal container holding water. Metal usually transfers energy to the water more effectively than glass.
State that simple food calorimetry estimates energy content because not all the energy released is transferred to the water.
