Energy Changes and Power
What you need to know
Calculate relevant values of stored energy and energy transfers, and convert between newton meters and joules.
For common situations, describe every change in how energy is stored as a system changes, such as a vehicle slowing down, an object being accelerated by a constant force, a moving object hitting an obstacle, and an object projected upwards or up a slope.
Using examples, explain what is meant by power: the rate at which a system transfers energy (or does work).
