Component 2 Question 3: music videos
Answering the Section B questions
What you need to know
The 20-mark extended response on the two contemporary videos studied, judging their media language or representation and referring to contexts; no video is shown in the exam.
How it is marked (AO2: analysis, judgements and conclusions), and how to keep an argument about how far going across both videos, with specific social groups and specific moments.
The 2025 question on how far music videos represent social issues and the 2026 question on how far the videos challenge stereotypes of social groups.
A question set out as Eduqas sets it, with its wording and marks, and a model answer with the band and mark an examiner would give and why, beside a weaker answer and what would lift it.
Timing: about 40 minutes for Section B.
Sentence starters and a short checklist of the steps, for students aiming at Grade 4 and above.
