Identify the components of animal cells: nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane, mitochondria, and ribosomes.

Identify the additional components found in plant cells: chloroplasts, permanent vacuole, and cellulose cell wall.

Explain how the cell wall strengthens plant and algal cells.

Use estimates, and explain when estimation is appropriate, to judge the relative size or area of sub-cellular structures.

Carry out light-microscope observations of selected plant and animal cells, then draw and label them with a magnification scale.
